Selfie Flaneur is a media installation that explores the power and risk of personal data chared online. Data surveillance goes under the microscope with Ralph Kenke, Elmar Trefz, and Adrian Hardjonoand’s full-room interactive installation. Tapping into the data set #selfies , Selfie Flaneur uses scanning and facial recognition to ‘match’ participant’s image to a picture pulled from Instagram’s #selfie database. This confrontation with a stranger introduced by artificial intelligence is at once an embodied experience and an unsettling realisation of our all-seeing networked society. This was part of the  Critical Mass Exhibition, September 22, 2018 at Testing Grounds Melbourne.
